Deadmau5's New Tattoo

Earlier this month, techno music god Deadmau5 covered his left arm with a bizarre tattoo.

The tattoo features the cult horror monster, Cthulhu, grappling with a female figure towards the bottom.

Just obnoxious :)
One of my favorite music artists. This really illustrates his sense of humor quite well.

More on video games - Starcraft Universe *Female Character Models*

A short update on what's been going on with SC:U as of late-

Zealot (female)

The explosively popular in-development map Starcraft Universe has posted a new update: female character models.
I want you all to get past how trivial this update may seem and instead focus on how much detail they are adding to the game.  The models are VERY good, and hopefully it could be inferred that the rest of the game design will follow suit.

High Templar (female)

The overall progress of the game is slowly gliding forward. Personally I hope they take their time and set a new precedent for Custom Maps in SC2. Blizzcon 2011 in October has promised a pvp arena gameplay for SC:U, so hopefully we can jump into an open beta by the end of this month or beginning of next.

Preserver (female)

Thanks for staying posted. Happy gaming!

Diablo III Beta - Leaked

That's right, there's just been a leak of some screenshots and footage from the highly anticipated Diablo III Beta this month. This means both that someone has shared when they shouldn't have and, more excitingly, that beta keys must have started rolling out to a small population (most likely 'friends and family' of Blizzard employees) already!!

Have a look here:

The video reveals mostly character creation and what the first few beginning moments of the game are like. This is, for some reason, taken from a user with very low graphics settings so it's nothing too visually dazzling.
The Beta is said to be on track for an invite-only release later this month! Anyone with a account is eligible and, if you haven't already signed up, here's how:

Is anyone else as excited about this as I am? Enjoy!

Chris Langan - 'World's Smartest Man'

Chris Langan was listed in Guinness Book of World Records as being the worlds smartest person--in other words, the highest scoring on the hardest IQ test. The smartest person slot in Guinness was dropped because it wasn't politically correct.
Video #1

Video #2

Video #3

This man was also profiled in "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell. Apparently having the highest IQ doesn't equip you for success by itself. He spends his days at trivial jobs like bar bouncing, and devotes all spare time to intensely thinking on philosophy.
What do you guys think- is this just what he was born to do? Where would you take yourself in life, with a cerebral engine under your hood this powerful? Enjoy.

Ran across this guy's website yesterday.
He gets really intellectual with philosophy, humor and even some conspiracy theory- easy and deep at the same time. Great examples used for everything- seems like a really bright and quirky man. He even puts up his hate mail for display ( Seriously, check this out.

Here, he has plans for a real life Iron Man

And if you don't like reading, here's a tall page pinned up and down with youtubes (

Sander Cohen is Frisky

I really enjoyed the first Bioshock game. Fanyboys will rant that it's just a lame System Shock 2 ripoff, but it has a permanent place down in my heart. Enjoy a comedy take on one of the major segments of the game: Sander Cohen

7:50 - 'Let me see it. My Go--*BOOM*' :D

Well I haven't had quite as much time for new content lately. This is just about as much fun.

How to Cook Yams

And now, a very necessary update on cooking:

How to Cook Yams

Pan-cooked Yams

If you want to learn how to cook yams, one of the most popular ways to do it is to pan fry them. This recipe is called pan-cooked yams. In this case, you can replace yams with sweet potatoes also. So, for a variation, you could use the same recipe and create a different dish by replacing yams with the sweet potatoes.

Ingredients Required to Make Pan-cooked Yams

The following includes the list of ingredients required to make this simple yet tasty dish.
  • 4 yams, medium size (you may use sweet potatoes)
  • 1 tsp olive oil or butter
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp sugar, regular or brown will do
  • nutmeg (a pinch)
  • cinnamon (a pinch)
  • all spice mixture (a pinch)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • Instructions to Make Pan-cooked Yams

This dish is pretty easy to prepare.
    • The first step in the process is to peel your yams and wash or rinse them thoroughly. Next, slice each yam into two halves.
    • Mix the rest of the ingredients in a bowl.
    • Now, layer the top of the yam with the mixture. Place the yams in a pan and cover and simmer on medium heat.
    • Cook for about 15 to 20 minutes until tender.
This recipe yields four mouthwatering servings.

-Pretty simple recipe. Just calls for chopping the food up into bite sizes, then boiling to cook and adding spices for flavor. Very delicious. Great source of carbs and now one of my staple foods for the month. Enjoy!

A Fan of *Parody Dubs*? Watch This! Also, TGIF!!

Corny, dumb, obnoxious, hilarious...

Basically, it's Disney's 1992 film "Aladdin" with all voice parts dubbed over by a comedy improv team. A little tacky, but good for when you're in the mood.
There's a series with  9 of these, and if you're a fan of Jaboody Dubs then you will probably enjoy this.

Happy Friday!!!!

DMC - A Horrible Mistake

To anyone familiar with the DMC (Devil May Cry) series, the look of the new 'Dante' is horrifying.
Included in the parodied youtube above is the E3 trailer for the new DMC (Devil May Cry 5) game in development. Backlash was so huge that now hordes of old fans are boycotting the game, based soley upon the trailer shown a year ago. Apparently the plan was for a new look and feel to market to a new generation of gamers. You can read more here...

Personal Injury Lawyer to Sue your Favorite Boss (lol)

Came across this tonight and had a long laugh. Here's 5 tips for suing your boss:

Top 5 Tips: So You Want to Sue Your Boss?

So you want to sue your employer for racial discrimination, sexual harassment, whistleblower retaliation, failure to pay you your last paycheck, what have you. Now what? Here are five tips all clients should keep in mind before they pick up the phone to call a lawyer.
summons1 Top 5 Tips: So You Want to Sue Your Boss?Tip 1Write it, don’t say it. People think it’s enough to complain, request or report things orally to their employer. They complain about discrimination to HR over the phone. Or they tell their supervisor about a health and safety code violation. Well, what are you going to do when HR or the supervisor denies you ever talked with them? Don’t believe it? Happens all the time. Avoid the “he said, she said” by communicating with your employer by emails or send letters (certified mail, return receipt requested). By doing this, you create a record.
Tip 2Keep a journal. Don’t rely on memory, write everything down. The names of witnesses, dates, times, places, what was said, documents involved – the more detailed the better. And be professional about it. Don’t write that your boss is a %*&@! in the journal, because the journal could become evidence. Another thing, don’t leave the journal on your desk or in your desk drawer at work where your boss can find it. You might end up fired and your lawsuit dead.
Tip 3Get witnesses. Emails, memos and letters are one form of key evidence in a lawsuit. Witnesses are the other. When your boss calls you a racial slur, pats you on the rear, or threatens to fire you because you reported him for illegal activity, talk to whoever witnessed it. Confirm whether they saw it. Try to get them on your side. Do this carefully and your case will have just gotten a lot stronger.
Tip 4Don’t play lawyer. So you went to the internet and learned that “retaliation”, “hostile work environment” and “whistleblowing” are magic words. That doesn’t mean you should go waving those terms around in your emails and conversations at the workplace like your sword and shield. Don’t play lawyer. Chances are, your employer’s lawyer will be better at it than you are and if, as is likely, you get it all wrong, you’re the one who could come off looking like the bully, not the employer. Get a lawyer instead.
Tip 5Don’t get mad, get even (or turn the other cheek). You’re being treated outrageously by your co-workers, your supervisors or the owners of your company, or maybe all of them. You’re depressed, scared and . . . spitting mad! To quote Al Pacino in Scent of a Woman, you want to take a flamethrower to the place! That’s fine if you want to end up in jail and without a lawsuit. Otherwise, take a deep breath, follow tips 1 to 4, and call an attorney. That momentary lapse where you curse your boss out like a sailor in front of your entire office could mean you no longer have a case.
More tips to come, but if you follow these five, you will be way ahead of the game. And your lawyer will thank you for it.

Relax. Breathe.

Need to Relax?

Box Breathing - 4 seconds each.
In for four. Hold four. Out for four. Hold four more.

This technique really helped me out today. Was starting to get a stress headache and had to take 15 to let ir flow out of me. Please try this. It's easy, it helps.    = )

Little Stressed Out, But No Big Deal

Well guys I thank you all for your supportive comments and views on the site. Creating this page seemed to spark off a race of ideas for me all weekend- and now it's almost Monday and time to go back to work.

On the bright side, I have HD Entourage (did any catch this one?) recorded and am about to relax in front of the tv with a cold drink in my hand before bed.

-cheers : )

Captain America: The First Avenger *movie blockbuster*

Created in 1941 and successfully “revived” in the 1960s, Captain America may be a Marvel Comics character, but he actually wasn’t created by Stan Lee. (Which means that the great man of Marvel Comics probably won’t be making his usual cameo in the movie then.) Instead he was dreamt up by writer Joe Simon and artist Jack Kirby as a patriotic superhero when America entered World War II in 1941.
After the War, the character’s popularity waned and he was effectively retired. But in March 1964 the character was successfully revived by Stan Lee, with Jack Kirby once again providing the art work. Captain America (or just plain Cap) was the meek and sickly Steve Rogers, who was rejected for military service in the US army on medical grounds. Instead he volunteered for a top secret “supersoldier” serum program by the US army and was successfully changed into a physically super-fit and strong specimen (this program is referred to in
However before the serum can be used to turn the entire US Army into superheroes, the serum’s formula is lost when the scientist responsible for it is killed by a Nazi spy. (What? He didn’t keep any notes?) With only one super-soldier at its disposal, the US military does the best it can and turns Rogers into Captain America, a propaganda figurehead for the war effort against the Nazis. Cue several adventures leading US soldiers invading Normandy during D-Day along with Cap fighting secret Nazi agents led by the nefarious Red Skull, a Nazi mastermind super-villain and his arch nemesis.
In Stan Lee’s reinvention of the character, Cap is thought dead when he foiled a Nazi missile launched at Washington DC. Instead the character has fallen into the freezing Atlantic Ocean where instead of drowning or dying of hypothermia he is instead frozen alive in a block of solid ice, only to be revived twenty years or so later. Strangely enough Lee did nothing more with Cap’s Buck Rogers-type resurrection than turn the character into yet another brooding and moody Marvel superhero. No “fish out of water” stuff as Rogers suddenly has to cope with stuff such as social changes, new technology and the like. After all, when Cap took a dive into the Atlantic Glenn Miller topped the charts and when he came back it was The Beatles

Will be catching this flick today or tomorrow. Expect a full report :)

SCU - mapmaker almost sued by Activision Lawyers, then later offered a job by Blizzard Entertainment.

Probably my best page so far is SCU- check it out!

To all you video game fans out there who may or may not be into Starcraft 2, the story goes a little something like this: guy named Ryan Winzen makes an extremely creative and detailed mod for SC2. Activision Lawyers try to sue said creator. Blizzard Entertainment eventually calls him up to headquarters for discussion and ends up offering him and his mod team a job.
Check out the youtube if you're still not impressed yet... :)

N-back Training Improves IQ?

New Dual n-back Testing on the computer could possibly improve IQ scores. Very interesting read:

Dual n-back

The dual-task n-back task was proposed by Susanne Jaeggi et al. in 2003.[2] In this variation, two independent sequences are presented simultaneously, typically using different types of stimuli, such as one auditory and one visual.
In a 2008 research paper Jaeggi et al. claim that practicing a dual n-back task can increase fluid intelligence (Gf), as measured in several different standard tests. This resulted in some attention from popular media, including an article in Wired. The paper's methodology has been criticized by David Moody. He draws attention to the fact that different tests were used to evaluate the control and test groups. Due to the way in which the tests were administered, he also questions whether they were valid tests of fluid intelligence. For example, the progressive nature of the tests was undermined by severe time-restriction (10 minutes were allowed to complete a normally 45-minute test). In a subsequent study, Jaeggi et al addressed Moody's timing restriction criticism by noting "that scores in timed versions of the APM are nicely predictive of scores in untimed versions (Frearson & Eysenck, 1986; Hamel & Schmittmann, 2006; Heron & Chown, 1967; Salthouse, 1993; Unsworth & Engle, 2005)".
The study was replicated in 2010 with results indicating that practising single n-back may be almost equal to dual n-back in increasing the score on tests measuring Gf.
There is a growing amount of evidence that cognitive training can have significant effects on the brain. In 2009, it was reported in Science that '14 hours of training over 5 weeks' on a variety of working memory related tasks (not including the n-back) led to measurable density changes for corticaldopamine neuroreceptors."

You can try it for yourself at  - I'm on my first day and will be updating my progress. Please comment your experiences with the software if you can, this almost sounds a little too good to be true. :)

First Things First

-Added tabs and dumped info on SCU. Very exciting stuff for a first time blogger.
Think I am really getting into this, but still so much more to be done.

I look forward to sharing my mind with all of you in the near future!
